JEE Mains

Joint entrance exam popularly known as JEE Mains is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). It is the gateway for admission to all NITs, IIITs, CFTIs (Centrally Funded Technical Institutions) and other we known engineering colleges. More than 1600 colleges in India accept JEE score for their UG engineering programs. It is definitely most competitive engineering entrance exam in India. Every year nearly 12 to 13 lakh students appear for this exam.

This exam has fixed structure and is not subject to change every year. If there are any changes in the pattern of exam it will be intimated to the students well in advance. In this exam number of questions and type of questions are fixed and are same for all subjects. Previously this exam was conducted for B.E/B.tech and B. Arch but from January 2020 an additional Paper - 3 is being introduced for B. Planning courses separately. Those who qualify in this exam are eligible to write JEE Advanced exam.

The qualifying mark changes from year to year depending on the number of students appearing for the exam. So those who want to secure engineering seat in IITs must get very good score in this exam.

This year (2021) exam pattern has been revised, and the number of questions in the exam has been increased from 75 to 90. Now each subject will have 30 questions out of which 10 are numerical questions 20 are MCQs. The officials have waived off 75% eligibility criteria from JEE Main 2021 examination for admissions.

This exam will be conducted four times a year (Feb, March, April and May).  The candidates can appear for four sessions of the exam. This exam is conducted in almost all popular cities in India. While filling the online application form for JEE Main exam, the candidates are allowed to choose at least three cities or centres as preference.
