Twin Powered Sisters

Twin Powered Sisters Nishita and Nikita Baliarsingh Powering Environmentally through their Startup Nexus Power!! (Non-Science Background but Building Bio Organic and Bio-Degradable)Read this Inspiring Story!

Dear Friends and Students

The Future Power is here- Bio-organic fast charge batteries for a better tomorrow!! Amazing Title, right? It is not just Title, but Beyond and their Vision! If this product is developed by some Bio Chemist or Electrical Engineer, it is not a big surprise! However, this company has been started by Twins- Nishita and Nikita Baliarsingh, who are not engineers by degree but by thought and heart!

Nishita Baliarsingh: Nishita completed her Bachelor's in Business Management with marketing majors from Xavier School of Commerce, Bhubaneswar. Currently, she is pursuing CA. She has been a recipient of multiple awards for innovation in battery technology. Besides her entrepreneurial interests, Nishita is an amateur photographer and an adventure freak. She also takes a keen interest in art, sketching, sports, music, and horse riding. She strives to build a greener planet. The company also follows the same ideology and is constantly innovating to sustain! Nishita is very active when it comes to business, leadership, and travel. She is the Co-Founder and CEO of Nexus Power.

About Nexus Power: The brand Nexus manufactures rechargeable, bio-organic, and biodegradable batteries for electric vehicles. These Eco - friendly batteries are lithium-ion free and utilize crop residue as the raw material, efficiently managing the massive farmland waste generated in India and across the globe. The interesting part is that the batteries charge 8x - 10x faster and last 20% - 30% longer than their counterparts. Nexus Power owns a provisional patent for its lab-tested working proof-of-concept.

Nikita Baliarsingh: Nikita completed her Bachelor's in Business Management with marketing majors from Xavier School of Commerce and then pursued her Master's in Media & Mass Communication from Xavier School of Communications, Bhubaneswar. She is currently the Co-Founder and CIO of Nexus Power. Besides her entrepreneurial interests, she is a creative writer, filmmaker, and adventure freak. She is also a musician, sports enthusiast, and brave horse rider.

Technology: The proprietary battery technology from Nexus uses bio-organic nano-materials with unique fast regenerative properties. The concepts of Bio-Mimicry and Industrial Ecology form the development structure of the battery and give the bio-degradable nature to both the electrodes and the electrolyte.

The entire process from the cradle to the grave doesn’t leave out any waste and these batteries are fully recyclable. Fast generative nano-materials from crop residue allow the charge to remain longer due to properties that make them sticky.

Inspiration: Despite no prior academic experience in science, both sisters enrolled in certification courses for nanotechnology, battery thermal management, and hybrid electric vehicle design, to learn about the technology they wanted to create. In 2019, they set up a manufacturing company called ‘Nexus Power’, driven by the aim to use protein extracts from crop residue to make sustainable, biodegradable batteries that can be turned into manure once the lifecycle is complete. Their efforts reaped fruit in the middle of the 2020 lockdown when the company successfully produced a prototype of the battery (https://www.vogue.in/).

A glimpse into the 2021 Class of Forbes India 30 Under 30, who took on the challenges of a relentless year head on

Best wishes  Nishita and Nikita Baliarsingh. Wishing your venture a big success!!
